PIPER OD 'JASY-B' - FOR SALE

PIPER OD 'AILSA' - FOR SALE
Ailsa is a Piper One Design built in Scotland in 1974. It is one of the fleet of Pipers and Rustler 24’s raced and cruised from St. Mawes. She is featured extensively in Euan Ross’s book “The Piper Calls the Tune.”
Ailsa has been extensively refurbished to a high standard and is one of the best examples in the Piper class. The interior has been refinished with teak floorboards, hull storage shelves, teak sliding helmsman seat refinished, and a bespoke crew seat. Pipers do not normally have crew seats and this wooden one was hand made specifically for Ailsa.
In addition, a matching engine bracket to attach an outboard for auxiliary propulsion has been made by the same craftsman and is offered with the boat.
As the St. Mawes fleet race without spinnakers it is necessary to use a long whisker pole. Ailsa has been fitted with a carbon pole which retracts on to the side of the boom using shock-cord running inside the boom. The spinnaker pole, spinnakers, sheets and fittings are all included in the sale.
The rudders on Pipers are sometimes glass fibre and sometimes Teak. The front trims have been re-varnished in spring 2026.
Ailsa has a bespoke four-wheel trailer. It has never been in the water and is “as new.”A third support each side has been fitted so that antifouling can be safely carried out lowering one support at a time.
She has brand new navy summer cover and grey winter covers made for her in the spring of 2026. Her winter cover is yet to be used and the summer cover has been used for only one season.
There are other details which can only be appreciated by viewing.
